Dr. Jane G. McKinney

Music Department Chair & Professor of Music

Jane holds B.M., M.M. and Ed.D. degrees in music with voice and trumpet as principle instruments. In 1990, her dissertation was recognized by the Council of Research in Music Education as the most outstanding in the nation. She received the Outstanding Educator Award from Rockingham County Schools in 1983 and the Distinguished Teaching Award from Greensboro College in the fall of 1995. She is the winner of several NATS first place awards and the North Carolina Young Artist Award from the North Carolina Federation of Music Clubs for 1985. She has performed numerous recitals, concerts and oratorios regionally. She is also currently CMENC chair and advisor to the North Carolina Music Educators Association and NCMEA Board, advocating for strong preprofessional music education programs in North Carolina.
